Route Comp

Document
Climbing Comp Pre-Registration Form
Sponsored by La Sportiva
la sportiva, climbing shoes

This is how it works:You and your partner are free to climb anywhere at the New River Gorge, Summerville, and the Meadow. Points are based on a scale that correlates to the grade indicated in Steve Cater's guidebook. Your top ten routes count towards your total score--the most points wins. This comp operates on the honor system. Please have your partner sign off on all your routes. There are three different divisions of the route comp, with divisions for both men and women. Enter youth (under15), novice or expert class:

  • Trad Redpoint
  • Sport Redpoint
  • TopRope

Register and pick up your score card on the Court House lawn in Fayetteville on Saturday morning, betweem 8-10. There will be a pre-comp orientation meeting at 9:00 on the Court House steps.

Total your card and return it to Water Stone Outdoors, or the Hospitality table at Burnwood by 5:00 p.m. We are sorry, but we can't accept late scorecards!

Cost for all comps: $30

Awards including cash folding money and schwag, will be presented at the Burnwood Campground Saturday evening at 7:30ish

2007 GRAND PRIZE OFFERED BY SPORTIVA went to Pat Goodman, the winner of the Men's Trad Expert Division. He won a one year sponsorship contract that includes 6-pairs of shoes and bragging rights. Congrats Pat!
