REGISTRATION IS CLOSED The event venue is now full, sorry for the bad news but only registered people will be allowed into Burnwood. Thanks for your understanding and we hope to see you in 2009.
NEW 2008: Pre-Registration-Updated on 2/20/08
We've reached critical mass at our beloved Burnwood, and the NPS has asked us to dial in the numbers of people and cars. The event would not be what it is without the killer location and we think moving the event somehwere else would kill the feel good vibe. So we're going to pre-register 700 people and we have 400 parking spaces available in Burnwood as per the NPS rule. Pre-Registration System: We will be requiring everyone to pre-register online for a NON-REFUNDABLE $25 donation to NRAC. The days of giving it all away are behind us. It's not something that we want to do because it means more work for us, but there's no gettin' around it. Why you ask? A couple of reasons...The NPS has asked us to limit the number of people who attend the event because the Burnwood is busting out of it's seams. And B, we also have to kick down for event insurance, and if you know anything about the insurance industry, you know it ain't cheap.
Your $25 gets you: Camping Meals Beverages Tax deduction! pretty much everything that goes on at Burnwood... But, it doesn't get you the coveted event shirt. Compete and you get one! Otherwise keep and eye on the NRAC booth--we will be selling them starting Saturday after the comps.
Parking: Parking has always been a major epic, this year the NPS is limiting the number of vehicles that are allowed into the Burnwood campground to 400. So we're going to need your help to carpool like crazy! Pack as many peeps into your vehicle as you can! If you've registered for the event, make sure you arrive to Burnwood early to be sure you get a parking pass for your car.
Leave No Trace: We're going green on your ass. The amount of garbage that this event generates is staggering and this year we're doing something about it. You'll be required to pack out everything (and we mean everything) that you pack in. This is going to require some planning on your part. You'll need to bring your own trash bags for your trash, recycling containers for your recyclables, and then haul it back to where ever you came from to properly dispose of it.
We also ask that you bring your own plate, cup, mug, fork, knife and whatever other eating accoutrements you may need at the event because we won't be providing any. Thanks for stepping up and not staying home!
Stay tuned for more details.
