WE ARE BRINGING FREEKBASS BACK!!
We are bringing this band back because last year they fired it up, went straight into overdrive and blew the roof off the place. We have never seen dancing like this at the Rendezvous and we want more! The Cincinatti based group is know for their irrepressible funkiness and entertaining stage presence. Freekbass.com

BASS PLAYER MAGAZINE (DECEMBER '08) by Bill Leigh
'Junkyard Waltz' review:
I have Ohio funk in my blood-albeit once or twice removed- so I've always had some appreciation for the musical endeavors of Bootsy Collins prot'eg'e and Cincinnati homeboy Freekbass, even as I've wondered about the size of the audience for modern takes on old-school funk. Regardless, Junkyard Waltz, is Freekbass's most fully formed and groovealicious outing, and it would be even without guests like Phish bassist Mike Gordon, uber-weird guitarist Buckethead, and Bootsy's fellow P-Funk alums, Bernie Worrell and vocalist Gary "Mudbone" Cooper. Freekbass - can I call you Freek? - layers on the effect-laden bass parts to full-funk effect. Need some hints on how to use those envelope filter and synth pedals? Follow Freek's lead.
"...Executive produced by Bootsy Collins and produced by Tobe “Tobotius” Donohue & Freekbass, 'Junkyard Waltz' is an instant classic! Freekbass proves that he is one bad…. “shut your mouth!”…..I’m just talkin’ about Freekbass people. Freekbass and his trusty bass go hand in hand just like Superman and the “S” on his chest; they are one in the same. Freekbass also brings some different styles to the table like hip-hop elements along with darker layers. But, in the end the Funk bass extraordinaire always brings the funk and Junkyard Waltz is no different..."
