La Sportiva brings us the fundraiser of the century...
Here
is the story: Over the years NRAC has done tons of work at the Bridge
Buttress and Junkyard crags. Trails, fences, risers...we have built
them all. But these are the most heavily used crags and they are hammered, they are bald! They have no vegetation!
Bald Kenny is a funny looking Kenny.
The National Park Service has long been interested in re-vegetating these crags. Enter La Sportiva, one of our long-time top tier sponsors. This year they wanted to go even bigger, offering to match up to $1000 in a special fundraiser.
Here is where Kenny Parker enters the picture. Water Stone Outdoors owner, NRAC boardmember, Rendezvous head organizer, Bubba of Bubba City and longtime local icon, Parker has always been known for his long hair. Well, we are going to de-vegetate Kenny. Ponytail and all.
If Rendezvous participants will donate $1000 Kenny will shave his head, La Sportiva will match it and we will have $2000 to cover the cost of re-vegetating two crags. What do you think? Got a few extra bucks to help the cause?
Donate at the NRAC tent and gather at the Dyno Wall at 9 to watch the ritual shearing of Kenny's big 'ol noggin.
Sportiva sweetens the deal!! Donate $20 to the de-vegetate Kenny fundraiser and get a FREE pair of leather V5 sandals! while supplies last...
